The first “Coup de coeur” I’d like to share with you is about Hiromi Sato, a Japanese fashion illustrator. It’s a bit hard to find informations about her so I’ll directly give you her website: white-eggs.com (it’s only in Japanese through…)
To resume, Hiromi Sato’s work is very cute, she uses a lot of materials (like glitters, lace, fabrics, ink, acrylic...) and delicate shapes and patterns to create her illustrations aiming young women. I like her innocent, happy and colourful style.
Don’t you think it has become quite rare to find illustrators who draw happy things? When I take a look at books like Illustration now (Taschen editor), I just feel like 90% of the artists will commit suicide before the next decade. I know, there are a lot of awfull things to denounce in our society… still, I prefer hopeful work; even if it’s childish. =)
